Our mission is to use business as a tool to solve problems that aren’t being addressed while also making a positive impact. We call our approach Business with Soul.

When you bring soul into business, you are looking to move beyond money, growth, and popularity to something deeper - something that makes an impact for good.

We believe that in every industry, there’s an opportunity to upheave the ordinary and explore the better way. Business can be a tool for restoration and should be used to leave neighborhoods and communities better than we found them.

We’re stepping up to do things our own way, because business is better with soul.

 how we got here

It began with a friendship

When you think of the potential relationships between a country-rock musician and a Fort Worth Detective, “business partners” is not the first thing that comes to mind. But for Jamey Ice and Jimmy Williams, sticking to the status quo has never been a part of the story.

After meeting in high school, Jamey and Jimmy forged a lifelong friendship. Despite their differences on the surface, the two shared many common dreams and goals, one of which was to make their own neighborhood a better place to live by buying old neglected homes and bringing them back to life.

6th Ave Homes and More

They jumped feet first into real estate with their company, 6th Ave Homes, and have helped hundreds of Fort Worth families create homes that feel like them. In the process, they built a brand behind 6th Ave that helped forge awareness and trust in the City of Fort Worth, even earning the title of Small Business of the Year in 2019.

Together and individually, Jamey and Jimmy have worked to build, market or grow a handful of standout Fort Worth companies in addition to 6th Ave. These include BREWED, a coffee shop and restaurant with locations across Fort Worth and Dallas, The 4 Eleven, a 20,000-square-foot mixed use development and event space on South Main, and The NET, a local nonprofit that serves the chronically homeless, women who have been sexually exploited, and refugee children.

Beyond Real Estate

In working on these businesses, the team found they had a knack for solving problems that weren’t being addressed and finding groups that weren’t being served - opportunities to use what they’d learned to make a bigger impact. Soon they were being approached by other business owners who, on a mission to create something unique of their own, saw what Jimmy and Jamey were doing and sought their help with real estate, design, business models, marketing and branding.

It was out of a desire to offer their services to a wider span of businesses that 6th Ave Homes evolved from a one-stop-shop real estate company to a family of businesses across multiple industries. 6th Ave is stepping up to do things a better way in the fields of marketing, commercial and residential real estate, property investing and business consulting.

We aren’t done yet!

These ventures are a way of approaching a question Jimmy and Jamey are constantly exploring the answer to: What if business wasn’t just about money and profit but was about people and community? Though the end isn’t always clear when the team dives into a new project or industry, the guiding principles and desire to make a positive impact remains the same. 6th Ave is launching forward with a spirit of adventure, a drive to be different and a motivation to bring peace and prosperity to the communities they touch.
